Success story of NDA

Hailing from small village of, Uttarakhand, Parveen Joshi has topped the UPSC NDA/ NA (I) Exam 2017. He was a student of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, which he will quit to join the Indian Armed Force. UPSC had declared the NDA result on 24 November and a total of 371 candidates have qualified it. Having scored 96.8 percentage in class 12 board exam and clearing the much coveted JEE Advanced Exam, Parveen decided to serve the nation in a better way and qualified the NDA exam.

'I always wanted to join the Indian Army as the kind of pride, respect, honour, discipline and adventure associated with it is not offered in any other profession. Joining defence forces is the best way you can serve your nation. The syllabus for class 12 exams and JEE is quite similar. NDA picks more generic topics so I took NDA Coaching in Chandigarh to perform in a better way. But I ensured four hours of preparation for the exams and two hours of football and other physical activities,' he added.
He got many best wishes from state Chief Minister and Delhi Career group. Honorable CM said, 'I congratulate Parveen for making an informed choice; he has set an example for millions and has made our state proud- it is an another feather in state 'already illustrious' cap- may he achieve more success in his military career!'
He has scored 1020 out of 1800 marks in the exam. His father, Rajeev Joshi, is farmer and his mother, Sonia Joshi, is a house wife.
Another two students of NDA Coaching in Chandigarh Yadwinder Singh and Sameer Shukla have secured sixth and eighth rank, respectively.

Since UPSC NDA results have been declared, Parveen Joshi has became an inspiration to many others. 'I stayed away from social media. Though I am fond of smartphones, I purchased it after clearing all my exams,' he added behind his success strategy.
Few days before the declaration of NDA result, state government was in news for deciding to set up two centers named Combined Defence Services (CDS) Coaching in Chandigarh and National Defence Academy (NDA) Coaching in Chandigarh to train youths to make them prepare for the exams. The government will set up one centre to train youths aspiring to join the armed forces.
