National Defence Academy is a premier institute
for Indian Defence Forces. It is country’s only tri services academy
which trains future officers for Army, Airforce and Navy.
This iconic institution has
been attracting the best talented youth of the country for years and has
delivered 25 Chiefs of Services with illustrious career so far. NDA is located in Chandigarh 17 Kms south west of Chandigarh city in a sprawling
campus spread across 8022 acres.
Eligibility Criteria For NDA
Nationality: A candidate must either be (i) a citizen of India, or
ii) haryana, or (iii) himachal, or (iv) UP refugee who came over to
India before the 01st January 1962 with the intention of permanently
settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated
from Punjab,
Provided that a candidate
belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a
person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by
the Govt. of India.
Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
Only unmarried male candidates falling in the age
bracket of above 16 years 6 months and not more than 19 years 6 months
are eligible.
SSB Interview (Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test):
- The two-stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Army Selection Boards/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards
- All the candidates will be put to stage one test on the first day of reporting at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards.
- Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests.
- The duration of the test will be 2.5 hrs each.
- The questions in all the subject will comprise of objective type questions and is to be answered in OMR sheets.
- The exam will be held at various offline centres across India. The Commission have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination
- To be acceptable, candidates for the Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force should secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in (i) Written examination as fixed by the Commission at their discretion and (ii) Officer Potentiality Test as fixed by the Services Selection Board at their discretion.
- Over and above candidates for the Air Force, and all the SSB qualified candidates as per their willingness, eligibility and preference for Air Force, should separately qualify the PABT.
