National Defence Academy (NDA) is located at Chandigarh, and is the first tri-service academy in the world. To gain entry into the NDA, aspiring candidates have to write the NDA exam. The NDA exam is conducted twice a year in the months of April and September by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Recruitment of candidates to the three wings of Indian Armed Forces namely Army, Navy and Air Force is through the NDA Coaching in Chandigarh. The selected candidates undergo training at NDA before they are commissioned into service.

Eligibility
·        Only males between the age of 16 ½ to 19 ½ can apply.
·        He should be unmarried
·        Cleared or appearing (10+2) with science stream
·        This NDA exam is conducted twice a year, these are known as NDA I in April and NDA II in September.
Exam pattern & Syllabus
1. The subjects of the written examination, number of questions, and the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject are as follows.

2. The papers in all the subjects consist of objective type questions only.
·        Paper-I Mathematics: (Maximum marks 300)
·        Paper-II General Ability Test :( Maximum marks 600) comprise the following

o   Part A English( Maximum Marks – 200)
o   Part B General Knowledge (Maximum Marks – 400)

Schedule of NDA SSB Examination:
The 5 personality and intelligence test schedule is as under:
Day 1: On First Day Basic Intelligence Test will be done of the candidate.
Day 2: On Second Day Psychological Test will be done.
Day 3 & Day 4: The Group Testing Officers also known as – GTO
Day 5: On Fifth Day Conference is taken
